Your day starts with morning pickup at the port in Mangalore by your private guide.
Ride in comfort in a private air-conditioned vehicle to your first destination, a cashew factory, a signature industry of Mangalore, which is the largest cashew producer and exporter in India. Take a factory tour to learn about the process of preparing the cashews from sorting to cooking and packing.
After 30 minutes at the cashew factory, proceed to the hills of Kadri to see Kadri Manjunath Temple, a popular Hindu temple that dates to the 10th or 11th century. Your guide shows you around the ponds, gardens, and ornate buildings of the temple complex.
Continue to Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple (Gokarnath Temple), which is devoted to Lord Shiva, and decked out with white marble floors, gold paint, and extensive murals depicting Hindu gods and goddesses.
After two hours of temple hopping, take a break for lunch at a local restaurant (own expense), then head to the Central Market to experience the colourful bustle of local people shopping for fruits, vegetables, and other household items.
Next up, go up Lighthouse hill to visit St. Aloysius Chapel, which is known for superb frescos painted in the late 1800s by the Italian artist Brother Moscheni.
Your tour ends with drop-off at your cruise ship port or hotel in the late afternoon.
